Networking Solutions
Wi-Fi that holds up in the room where people actually work.
Slow networks get blamed on the internet connection far more often than they are caused by it. Usually it is coverage, contention, or a switch nobody has looked at since the day it went in.
What this covers
- Site survey measuring where coverage actually drops, rather than guessing from a floor plan
- Structured cabling, patching and labelling the next engineer can follow
- Access point placement and channel planning for the building you have, walls included
- Router, switch and firewall configuration with default credentials replaced
- A guest network genuinely separated from the network your business runs on
- Documentation: an IP plan, credentials and a simple network diagram
How we run it
Survey
Signal measured room by room, along with how many devices really connect at once. Contention is far more often the culprit than the size of your internet plan.
Design
Access point positions, cabling routes and an addressing plan, sized for the next two years rather than for exactly today.
Install
Cabling run and labelled, hardware configured with sensible defaults changed, and guest traffic separated before anyone is given the password.
Verify
Coverage measured again after installation and the readings handed over, so the improvement is a number rather than an impression.
What you get
- A network diagram and IP plan, so the next engineer does not start by reverse-engineering yours
- Guest traffic properly separated from the systems your business depends on
- Post-installation coverage readings, not an assurance that it is fine now
Questions we get asked
Our internet plan is fast — why is the Wi-Fi still slow?
Almost always coverage, device contention, or an access point several years past its useful life. The bandwidth reaches your router perfectly well and then fails to cross the building. A survey answers it in an afternoon.
Do you supply the hardware?
We specify it, and you can buy it yourself or through us. Bought through us it is quoted separately from the labour, so you can compare the price anywhere else without unpicking a bundle.
Can you work with the equipment we already have?
Often, yes. Plenty of networks improve with better placement and configuration and no new hardware at all. Where a device genuinely is the bottleneck, we will show you the reading that says so.
